Kind of depends on what you want to do. An MBA could give you more opportunities but in reality they are a dime a dozen (nothing against anyone with an MBA, but there are a lot of them). If you are thinking more on the pure business side of things, perhaps finance, I'd say you would be better with an MBA. If you are more interested in being an analyst outside of business (gov, healthcare, etc) an MS in econ might be better.
One thing about econ degrees is that employers see that as a sign you have very good analytical and problem solving skills. Those skills can be related in the business field and beyond.

Do you know what you plan to do with the degree? If your goal is in government, the MS might be a good move. If you want to go into business, go for the MBA.
