There's no way to know. For some women it takes hours, for others a few days. When the induction is not successful sometimes they will let you go home and then schedule you for another try.
But for most women induction is successful and the average labor is probably between 5-10 hours.
All the best to you!

I can only speak from my experience.
I actually started having contractions a couple of hours before I was set to be induced. I arrived at the hospital around 7 am, went through the procedures and had my baby at 11 am.
I don't know if there is any significance, but it was my 3rd child.

generally speaking it takes longer with first babies when you get induced i think my midwife told me normally about 24 hours before labour starts. im guessing you know what they are going to do (eg insert pessary tablet etc) well i was induced with my 2nd at 38 weeks and i had my first tab inserted at i think 10 or 11 am and nothing happened. they then inserted another one at 5pm and contractions started pretty much straight away. they checked me again at 10pm and i was 7cm dialated they then broke my waters and my son was born at 10:55pm. There was a woman oppostie me in hospital having being induced with her first baby and she had been in for atleast 24 hours and only just started having niggly pains. Your midwife/doc should give you a leaflet on induction which explains everything and if you have any questions ask them before you go in to be induced. All the best

As others have said, there's no true way to know. I was induced with my first pregnancy and after 48 hours of labor, I still hadn't dilated past 9 1/2 cms so they started talking C-section. In the end, they opted to have me push and hope that forced the cervix to dilate the rest of the way.

I was induced at 6 am and popped out my little one at 2:46 pm. We played the waiting game for a while and I pushed for about 45 mins. Everything went very well for me.
But everyone is different. You will have your own story to tell. Don't worry about anything. The experience is something you'll never forget.
Best wishes to you and yours!

an induced labor is terrible because you cant get up and walk around or anything So try to start walking now that way maybe they wont have to induce!
