For starters, we can think.

We can think about who put the holes in the legal system, and stop voting them back into office simply because they got a local corn grower a government subsidy for ethanol.

We can think about the news reporters, and stop buying newspapers that will report every anti-Bush blog rumor, and demand that they cover local matters like child molesters moving into the neighborhood. We can stop buying "unbiased" newspapers that, when they do cover a story about a violent criminal, clearly condemn the violence rather than turn it into a story about how Society, government, schools, churches, or fast-food are really to blame.

Want to know who is to blame? You are, because you put up with it, and you put up with the people that let it happen and then blame you for it.

Want something fixed? Fix it. Stop waiting for "them" to do it at their own pace, if they aren't getting the job done, fire them.

By improving the character of the people we put into office as law makers. New laws should be put up for vote by the people, that way no hidden pork.

Immediate death without appeal. One change we could make in the system would be to actually CARRY OUT the sentence and not allow perpetrators to sit their as..es in jail at the expense of the tax payer. This burns my butt!!!!!!
Finally, we may use the model of the Netherlands as a legal system....there is no jury to hear these cases...the judge reviews the evidence, then makes a decision. Simple.

Some states are trying to get the death penalty for child molestors. I hope that it will pass, but I fear it won't.
