Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!
1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.
2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.
The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.
After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net
Ohhh..and Good Luck!

Melatonin is a natural supplement that promotes sleep. You can purchase it at Walmart or any pharmacy. The average dose is 5 mg. I prefer to take a sublingual (dissolves under the tongue for more effective absorption). Usually, 2.5 mg is sufficient with the sublingual. You can find the sublingual at most health food stores.
Melatonin stays in your system for about six hours, so there are no lingering effects the next morning. Another nice thing about melatonin ... if I wake up at 3 a.m. and can't go back to sleep, I take another 1/2 sublingual, return to sleep, and still wake up fine in the morning.

Insomnia is often caused by fear, stress, anxiety, medications, herbs, caffeine, depression or sometimes for no apparent reason. Make sure your bedroom is quiet and dark. Soak a tablespoon of mint leaves in a cup of water for an hour, drink every night. Check out http://useinfo-insomnia.blogspot.com/ for more info

I found that a herbal nutritional supplement did the trick for me. I wasn't keen on having prescription drugs into my system as I had tried them before. I opted for these supplements because I wanted to feel refreshed in the morning not feel like I was dragging. Peace, Ame

Lie comfortably and still in the dark, and keep your eyes closed. Count backwards, very slowly, from five hundred. As you count each number, trace its shape withoyour eyeballs as if you are "drawing" it on the inside of your eyelids. Your eyes will get very tired doing this. Also your brain is focused on the tracing and the numbers, so the outside thoughts and worries will eventually die down as you continue. I have never had anyone tell me they made it all the way down to zero and did not fall asleep.

Hot milk and nutmeg are both natural sedatives. Sprinkle a bit of sugar in the hot milk and some nutmeg. Drink while hot, take a warm shower and go to bed. You should be totally relaxed and able to sleep.

I am an acupuncturist, and insomnia is one of my most common patient complaints. I am also happy to say that it is also one of the most treatable conditions using acupuncture.
But you have to make sure that your practitioner is qualified, not just some weekend seminar quack.

Have early supper and end this meal with a banana and
a glass of warm milk to which one tablespoonful of honey
is added. Then go for a night walk and if this is not
feasible walk inside your home itself about 600 steps is
sufficient. You will have refreshed sleep and wake up also
feeling exhilarated. Good luck and God bless. Cheers! :o)
