I just want to know if i am able to get my car windows tinted by a nearby local auto shop. Would it be better to do it myself or get it done professionally? How much would it cost including the service fee and how long would i have to wait for the service ?

OK. .have a pro do it for obvious reasons. It takes a bit over 1 hour if the installation company uses a software cutter /plotter system that cuts a perfect pattern.

Film does not need to be reflective or dark to work. There are non metal ceramic films now that wont interfere with Bluetooth, GPS etc. Check ; http://www.formulaone.com or Huper Optik at http://www.huperoptikusa.com

Cost will vary by shop .

In two of our cars, yes, they are tinted. They were tinted when we bought them. I don't know how dark they are, but it's never been an issue. We live in Arizona, and it does cut the heat. I personally could care less how it looks. I don't spend money to upgrade my car really in any way- no fancy wheels or exhausts or anything else for that matter, it just seems like a waste of money to me. Until I got my new car, I drove here for 10 years without tint. My husbands current car does not have tint, and he's just fine without it.

Usually there are speciality places that do window tinting professionaly. I wouldnt do it yourself its a pain in the butt and will bubble and crackle if not done right. Window tinting shops usually have a lifetime warranty on their work and gurantee it not to crack, fade, peal, bubble etc. and for my ford fusion getting all 4 windows done including the rear is going to be $235.00 including tax, labor etc. They usually require an appointment and it takes aprox. 5 hours to finish the job.

Dude, I drive a Jaguar X-Type 2.5. Tints look cool, but I would rather have all the ladies see me in the car versus themselves in the window.
