It's very old technology in computer years. The expected life of a laptop is 3 - 4 years, on average.

un-install Crystal XP and any other unnecessary junk, like ToolBars, etc. First. Then: Upgrade your RAM to 512MB minimum ($50 - $100).

Then, save $2 a week for the next year and buy a new laptop.

Or, just replace Windows with Ubuntu Linux, it's free from:

ADD MORE RAM. You see, Windows XP with SP2 is DOG SLOW unless you have at least 512MB of RAM. You should buy the MAXIMUM that the computer will take.

Use the SCAN TOOL at Crucial.com to see what your computer can take. Just click here: http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-2594269-5032657

Overclocking will only speed that old computer to it's DEATH. More RAM is your answer.

Good luck and Happy Computing!
