Although it's a ten year contract that's still so over the top! This means scientists deserve so much more!

No! It's not right....They all are over paid. I think there should be a base pay and the rest based on performance. You miss a catch that was catchable, or miss a basket that was makable,
don't throw a player out, fumble the football, don't throw accurately etc....lose money do all those things and get some kind of incentive pay. The money they lose could go to the schools where they play.

When we have schools struggling to make ends meet, people without insurance, the government setting minimum wage under $10... taking I don't remember how many years to even increase it....

There are some individual players that do give back to the community and this should be commended.

It just seems wrong to pay them so much, when so many people are struggling living in poverty....

Not only should scientist make more, but how about the police, fireman, teachers....nurses... What they do is far greater ....

Sorry if I vented I have always felt athletes were over paid and many don't play they way they are paid. If we performed as bad as some do, we wouldn't have a job...

Sure they should if they are willing to pay that much. For all of the people that say that they shouldn't, tell me this. If you were offered 5 times as much as the guy that sits next to you at work would you take it? How about 100 times? If someone offered you $275 million would you take that? Anyone that argues what anyone is paid is a hypocrite. Because when it comes down to it, there isn't a person out there that wouldn't take more money for what they do.

No. Neither do I think it's right for an actor to get $25 million to make one movie, or for a CEO to get a $200 million bonus to retire from a marginal corporation, or for a musician to get $1 million for one concert.

But that's what the market will bear, with or without my money being spent on it, so who is really to say it's wrong.

That's the free market for you. As long as people are willing to spend big money watching grown men play games, the grown men are going to get paid well for it.

If one player can make that, imagine how much the organization is making..

As long as the stadiums continue to fill during the sports season, those salaries will continue to rise. We do live in a free society and while that may be a steep salary, we certainly wouldn't want the government to set salaries for every job in the country. Believe me, your standard of living would drop.

This will continue till:1 change in tax law on deprecation (this is biggest cause in my opinion) 2, More people buy non brand items and stop paying highly over priced sporting tickets.
