Is GeForce 7300GT a good video card? I had it since last yr December but haven't really use it because I'm not an experienced gamer. I just play sports game and some FPS games, sometimes strategy game. Mostly EA games. Well, i had a limited budget, should I change it or it is good enough for now? Lifespan of the card? 2 more years?

*thanks alot

7300GT is a fast BUDGET card. It can play many games at low settings. Serious gaming starts with the mainstream cards like the 8600GT or GTS and the ATI HD2600 XT. Hard core gaming requires the high-end (monster) cards that also require monster power supplies.

i've had a 7400gt for almost 2 yrs now, and i'm not even looking at upgrading for the next couple of years. most games coming out now will run pretty smoothly on ur card, unless u wanna turn on all the features to ultra high or something, so if u have a limited budget, i'd say u wait at least 2 more years and save a bit and then buy something thats the top-notch card then....

if u plan to play directx10 games (ie games using vista) then its not suited.

It really depends what games u want to play. there's no point going out and shelling $300 for a new card if all you want to play is, say the sims and second life.

Have a look at the chart here

it should give you an indication of where your card sits in the bigger scheme of things.

If you are thinking of upgrading the card, this is an excellent resource~

Have a look at the card specs of whatever game you are considering buying. If your card is up to scratch, obviously no need for an upgrade. You can easily do this online by googling [system requirements ]

Go for the 78 or 79 series, they are much better then 73

but it will last you for a while if you take care of your pc, you will not be able to play all most recent games, so its a alright card.

It is good enough to play almost anything, including a few DirectX 10 games, but you will need to adjust your virtual memory and configure a few things to get your machine set fast enough to handle them.
