Hi, i have asked a similar question to this a few weeks ago but didnt really get an answer from anyone who had experienced it. I had an amniotic fluid level of 4.7cm a few weeks ago so have been going for regular scans. It was up to 5.5cm on wednesday which is only just within the "normal" limit, normal for the 3rd trimester is between 5cm-25cm, im 36 weeks. My doc said that if it starts to go down again then they will think about delivering baby sinse im so close to term now. What i want to know is, from anyone who has had this, what was your level when they decided to get the baby out?

at 32weeks my deepest pool was 3cm, i had extremely low amniotic fuild i was told that it was still fine had my son at 33 weeks after my waters broke, your levels sound fine, the closer to due date you get the less fuild there is, if your fuilds are dangerously low they would scan you every week, have they ruled out PROM? i had PROM which is premature rupture of membranes had no water for 2 weeks before my son was born so i would get it checked out if your worried but sure they are doing all they can...

good luck

I was diagnosed with low fluid with my son (first baby) and had to be monitored regularly. He always did fine during the non-stress tests and ultrasounds.

At 37 weeks they told me my levels had dropped, but I don't know the exact amount. I was induced that day and eventually needed a c-section because labor didn't progress.

My son was a healthy 6 pounds, 4 ounces and there were no problems or complications at all. I've never had this problem repeat itself.

My cousin just had the same diagnosis and she had a perfectly healthy baby and delivery, too. Low amniotic fluid is usually not a cause for great concern, just something they like to monitor "Just in case."

Your body constantly replenishes the fluid so just stay well hydrated and get lots of rest.
