lost vista password?

Question

i've been looking for a solution for almost a week now.tried ophcrack but is not free.
so the only choice that i have left is operating system restore.
is it recommanded?knowing that i don't have the vista cd .
will my computer be ok after?

do i loose all drivers too?
i lost vista login password,and the safemode thing doesn't work on vista,it work on xp

To do a restore you need either the OS CD or a recovery disk (provided by the manufacturer which will re-image your system to when it was new).

That will remove the password, but it'll also remove anything else. If you've used the encrypted file system option then you won't be getting anything you stored off it.

if u mean that u forgot ur windows startup password then u can remove it by going to the safe mode (restart ur computer then stay clicking F8 then u can go to safe mode from a list of options). After in safemode login as the administrator and go to controlpanel>user accounts>and remove the password of ur user.
If u mean by the Q that u lost the serial number for the vista windows i think u should contact the Microsoft.
