£50 a week and I still have to pay for my prescriptions and whatever else. If you don't go to hospital or you have to pay for prescriptions I think you should get something back, considering people who don't work get them for free.

We are supporting the Scottish and all the immigrants!!!! Same as dentists though isn't it and opticians!! We need a revamp as when you work and are ill you don't get the full pay you are losing and have to fork out for something to make you better so you can go back to work and pay again but the BONE IDLE can be ill for free. The Lazy should pay because they have loads of time off doing sweet fanny anneand the workers should not. I am on about the people who don't want to work not those genuinley unemployed or off work for genuine reasons!!!

I totally agree, I huv never been tae the docs fur the last twenty years. Surely, I should get some sort of rebate?? I get offy peed aff when I know I am paying fur folk who just cannae be bothered tae get a job. Before yez all get on ma case, I do realise that there are many folk who are unable tae work fur genuine reasons. I'm getting on aboot the lazy spongers who urr working the system!!!

i dont think its quite as basic as that really, i agree about prescription but you cant use the i didnt go into hospital last week i want my 50 quid back argument, one day you may go into hospital, and that visit will cost waaay more than that weeks £50 contribution, its certainly a far from perfect system but we are better off than a lot of places

The way it works is that we all pay in and when you need the services you get them , how would you feel if you had a serious accident ?. the treatment could easily cost £250,000 . Would you like to pay the bill for that?
It's an insurance scheme, we pay in and if we need the service it's there for us.

What makes me laugh is that it's supposed to go towards funding our government pensions.
But if the government get their way, there wont be any government pensions by the time I retire.
(That's if I make it to retirement, they've already put the retirement age up to 70 for people my age, so by the time I get there, it will probably be 80!)
