I was just curious how exactly to tell if my motherboard supports this, because i am not quite sure if it does. My motherboard is a gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H. I bought it this last summer, so i am pretty sure it would support it, but i cant find it anywhere on the product specifications on newegg and on the gigabyte website.

NOPE, because it only uses AMD 690G chipset that supports PCIe 1.1a.

It is AMD's RD790 chipset that supports PCIe 2.0.

Also, Intel's new X-38 chipset and Nvidia's new MCP72 chipset support PCIe 2.0.

It should be compatible, i would be surprised if not, and I don't want to say plug it in and if it goes bang, no it isn't. The sure way is to ask before purchase or ring or email ATI. have you got a manual for you motherboard? Specs page may tell you?
