Does anyone know of a good government sim game, along the same style of something like Sim City or Rollercoaster Tycoon?

You know what? These are a few years old but it's exactly what you're looking for.

Tropico. Be a dictator on a carribean island. Keep your citizens content and build farms, logging sheds, mines and ports. Establish a power plant and power the island so you can build factories. Get a tourist industry going as well. Of course you have to decide if you want to lean towards communisim or capaitalisim. Establish better trade and diplomatic relations with the US or Russia. Want a democracy or a police state? There's alot going on here in the game and its multi-tasking at it's finest. Plus...the musical score is superb. All Cuban street music. Go to wikipedia and type it in the search engine. You'll get more details there as well as the website for the game.
Another would be Emperor; rise of the Middle Kingdom. Same thing. build a city, establish trade, feed your citizens and give them religion. make offerings to dietys to avoid plague, earthquakes and flooding (if you've built your city near a river). Again...alot of multi-tasking but its what you're looking for.
These are the two best city/government building sims I've come across to date. Have fun and if you're getting them for PC they're only about a lousy nine dollars each now and work perfectly on the XP OS.
