he'll be overshadowed all his career by better point guards. nash, kidd, parker, paul and williams are all better than him.

Ok I love Devin. He is so athletic and speedy and, for the most part, makes good decisions with the ball. He will continue to do amazing things even if (and God I hope he does) he stays with the Mavs. All you retards who are saying he has nothing on PGs like Tony Parker obviously havent paid attention to him against TP. Devin completely owned TP last night and pretty much every time we play the Spurs. There is no doubt about which PG is better. He does need to improve his range a little more (he has already taken huge leaps with how he is shooting this season) but there is NO reason for him to not become a star, save for a serious injury.
O yeah and in order to be the 6th man of the year you kind of need to be the 6th man, not a starter, like Devin. They dont just hand out 6th man to any ole chucklehead that walks by. Please use common sense

Thats my boy, Ive been watching Devin grow since he was drafted, he used to make some really stupid moves when he was younger but i think all the screaming coach avery johnson did to him finally caught up. I can actually see the intensity and anger of avery johnson in devin harris now. And he always OWNS tony parker on offense and defense every time they play. This guys a future allstar for more info check this out::www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9_IGn09Ax0

I don't think he will be a superstar but he'll become a very solid player. Avery johnson handed the reins over to him this year and has terry coming off the bench, which says a lot about the kind of trust the coach has in him. He's still really quick driving to the basket, plays above average defense, and has a developing jumper. He's kind of in the tony parker mode but not quite there yet. I think the mavericks will do everything they can to keep him since he's developed and learned the system in dallas so well now.

Strengths: Athletic guard who has excellent quickness and leaping ability … Owns great size for an NBA point guard … Possesses an explosive first step capable of taking opposing defenders off the dribble … Shows three point range on his jumper … When driving in the lane he does a great job of drawing contact … Has excellent body control … His long arms and leaping ability enable him to make an impact on the glass … Court vision is above average and ever improving by the year … Ball handling ability is top notch as he displays an assortment of crossovers and spins to gain separation from his man … Athleticism allows him to be a great finisher on the fast break … Has all the physical attributes needed to excel defensively with his super lateral quickness, long arms and swift hands … Moves well without the ball … Exhibits good leadership skills and the decision making ability desired in a point guard … An explosive scorer who can take over a game … Solid passer with an unselfish mentality … Post up skills enable him to take advantage of undersized mismatches … Plays the passing lanes extremely well for steals … Harris has shown great work ethic over the years …
Weaknesses: While Harris has shown great improvement in his point guard skills he is still a work in progress … Doesn’t have a great deal of experience when it comes to running the point guard position as this was his first year full time … He must continue to develop his point guard skills such as controlling the tempo … Shooting from the perimeter still goes through periods of inconsistency … Defensively he needs to improve on his intensity and understand when to put pressure on the ball handler and when not to gamble … Should continue to add more upper body strength and weight to his body … Can get a little too carried away with shooting behind the 3-point line … Must improve upon running an offense in a half court set …

Star, but there a re so many young point guards out there. In probably 5 years he will be the mavericks second best player. Like Tony Parker but needs more range.

he's a solid PG, I like his herky jerky stop n go style, reminds me of Nick Van Exel. He's getting better every season, he even took over the starting role over Jason Terry. Sure, he's not as good as Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Parker or Steve Nash, but he's a top 10 PG

i agree with m33. harris is good, but he isnt really noticed in the NBA. with a star like dirk, i dont think harris will be a 'future star'. UNLESS he leads the team when dirk is injured, or he leaves to another team, and leads there.

devin harris will not be a future star... with terry, stackhouse, howard, and dirk in the team he wouldn't be able to shine out of all of them... dirk and howard are all-stars... stackhouse is a dominant dunker, and terry is an amazing shooter.. i'm not saying harris sucks but he can't overpower the other 4 key players unless he goes to a team like umm.... 76ers?

I don't see him reaching star status, but I can see him being a solid point guard like a TJ Ford but not like a Nash or a Chris Paul
