Do you wear sunscreen in the sun?

I had to admit I'm bad with that. I love to sunbath in the summer. I live in New Zealand so we have a big hole in the ozone layer which increases the risk of skin cancer.

Are you worried about the risk of skin cancer?

Yes i do sunbathe.Mostly when i am on holiday and when its summer ( there's not much point even trying any other time or year in the UK! ) .If my mum is there or a member of my family, then i wear sunscreen. But if its just me and my friends or just me then no. I tan easily and would rather sunbath for shorter amounts of time and get a tan, rather than for longer and get a small tan.
I'm not really worried about skin cancer though. I have thought about it but i figured i don't really do it enough to get it. I guess because of my balance of sometimes using it and sometimes no i figured i wasn't really at risk. Also its not very often i do sunbathe.

I'm not a teenager (25), but I do go to tanning beds. I no longer lay out in the sun anymore. About two years ago, we went to the beach. I was pregnant with my son at the time, and I slathered sunscreen on myself. I forgot to get my feet and ended up with purple feet that were sun poisoned. Not only was it disgusting, it was probably the worst amount of pain I have ever been in in my life. Now, I'm pretty terrified of the sun.

However, I do go to tanning beds. This past summer, I was going obsessively every day. Now, I go a couple of times a month. I know that tanning isn't healthy, but the look of a tan does make you look even more healthy. I don't really think about skin cancer, or how I am going to look when I'm in my 40's, but I really should, I know.

i do worry about skin cancer, but only because i am exactly the right type of person that is prones to it, blonde hair, light skin, freckles and blue eyes(im not saying this type is the only type to get it, just that it is most common) so therefore i do not sunbath.

However i think that if i did tan then although i might worry about skin cancer i would still do it anway even though it is stupid(sorry just being hones) but when i did it i would wear sun cream.

Hi Wabby, Yes I am. They have cut 2 spots of sun cancer of my nose. I can tell you that the shot they give you in your nose
made my left leg go up in the air. Hurt like HELL!!! But so far the cancer hasn't return. I use sun block especially on my nose and face all the time get # 50 to be safe.

Yes., once in a while this can be done. Sunbath affects tender skin badly. Take care.Grow up and then have more frequent sunbath .ok?

The hole in the ozone is no biggie despite what the polotitions say. Do you know what ozone is made of? Aparently not, or you wouldn't be so worried. Ozone is made of oxygen and ultraviolet light. Now, the hole in the ozone at the north pole is when there is no light, but the hole gets bigger in the winter and smaller in the summer. If we don't have ozone in a given area it means; A: We don't have the rays from the sun. Well that's fine, that's what the ozone protects us from. B: We don't have oxygen. If so then I think that we have more to worry about than sun rays. So, do not worry. I bet you don't hear that in school.

As an adult I also fail to take adequate precautions.
As a teenager we had a holiday home up the coast close to the beach and it seems that we spent the day in our swimsuits, on the beach or at home or hunting and fishing.
Nowadays I tend to work outside in the mornings and later in the afternoon
