Well first of all the term "no one is perfect" most certainly doesn't apply to me. I'm afraid not, never happened (just like Dick and Bush.). And second, many things you will need to do to survive require practice, even if you never perfect them. Third. some people love the practice. But that was a very clever question.

Because in singing everybody sounds awful until a few years of training, piano,(same thing) violins, well you have to be considerate to the poor ears listening to injured cat bray, and drums, bad drumming can cause neighborhood wars.
Yep, one must practice, or have at the very least, a soundproof basement.

The original phrase should have been "Practice
makes man more and more perfect". Every thing
in the world is relative. One can be more perfect
than his neighbour through practice.
Only Almighty is absolutely prefect.

competition. to become better than you were a year ago. to become better than someone else. so you don't make a fool of yourself in front of others. so you feel accomplished. for admiration from others. so you can get a job.
for example, no one wants to hear a musician who plays horribly out of tune. therefore, they must practice to become as close to "perfect" as possible.
