why are soap operas so dramatic?

they dont have proper writers?

Because it has always got to have a 'climax point'.
Why do dramas need to have that?
Very simple. If throughout the story you are watching the dailiness of someone's routine in life: going to market, go back home, cook, clean the house, sleep.
Won't you be bored? Then, what is the point of watching it?
The climax point is supposed to engage your feelings with the problems that the drama shows. Then the ending part is the resolution of the problem(s). This is the part of excitement that people get from watching soap operas. The feeling of involvement in that drama... The 'realness' of it. Now of course there must be some degree of exaggeration in order to reach those. Am I right?
Can you tell that someone is depressed if he/she tries to hide the feeling? Like putting a fake smile? Most of the time no, you can't.
Now in dramas we need to get out the feeling to be clear and concise. So you would not need to put it in the dialogue: "Hello, I am depressed and suicidal today." Haha wouldn't it sounds weird?

Because if they are anything like our everyday's life, nobody is gonna watch it
Even reality TV are often made to be as dramatic as possible

because theyre for the women at home who have nothing to do but watch tv! lol no im just kidding. i dont know why, theyre so overdramatic arent they?

i dont watch them.... its all about drama, and being into some kind of argument everyday... not entertaining to me.
