Only if you could program all humans mind to ban them. Otherwise, no one will take the first step as there's always a possibility of rival nation will not follow and it may make you vulnerable if you've rid all your nuclear stockpile and your rival nation decided to keep theirs.

even if everyone sign a treaty, there's still a possibility someone may decided to secretly keep some stockpile. So what will you do? secretly keep some as well just incase someone else is having them too? All nation may be doing so and we're back to square one.

A world without nuclear weapon is a wonderful world, and wonderful world are never possible

Of course there Should be. Bans are tough, because to keep them there has to be mutual trust. Failed bans: german air power, torture, Successful bans: Germ warfare, Gas warfare, "Dum Dum" exploding bullets. Could we ever have an international police/military with the authority and power to go after violators? Possible, but very difficult. the good news, Europe, a battle ground for thousands of years, has had 60 yrs of relative peace and is getting better. Scarcity of resources, the main reason for war is actually over. Our technical society has the possiblilty of providing "enough for everyone" IF it has the political will. think of the "star trek" economy.

Sure. And while were at it, we'll make crack and heroin illegal, and make it illegal for felons to carry firearms. Oh, wait we already do that, and unless my eyes are playing a trick on me, I'm fairly certain you can scoop up any drug you want within 2 hours, and there's plenty of bad guys out there carrying loaded weapons. Sure, the idea is great. Trying to enforce the ban is quite another issue.

No. And the reason i say this is we might need them in the future against enemies, maybe even from other places. Hopefully not but we can't be too careful. Also i would prefer if the countries with these weapons would come together and not threathen each other with them...
