Well, the Bible (Judaism: Old Testament/Christianity: New Testament) tends to give perhaps 50+ mental images of God, the landlord in the sky.
Personally I tend to use imagery such as:
Invisibility (God is invisible)
The Ark of the Covenant (Judaism)
Light
Pure Water vs polluted water
A Magnet
A sign which says: God is love.
A Heart
etc.
The back of a USA dollar bill shows an all-seeing eye above a pyramid.
In God we trust.
When the economy tends to tank, I tend to view God as the Golden Calf (...just kidding a little...).

I know Hes not but, I have always pictured that painting in the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo...I imagine God to be a huge old white-bearded man with a very kind and gentle expression.
