Now that license raj has been loosened, I feel the Commission should be abolished as the economical decision will be based on market signals and not on the fancied imagination of bureaucrats and illusory forecasts. The structure shows it is either a punishment posting for serving bureaucrats or gubernatorial posts for rewarding ‘meritorious bureaucrats’.

If the post is to be abolished how can the government oblige some of the old fuddy duddies? These guys need to be accommodated to enable them to continue their lifestyle and throw their weight about like they have been used to all along. This sinecure
along with other sinecures like appointments of
hundreds of committees is the prerogative of the goverment employees and politicians who
milk the country dry.So many qualified people
are struggling,in the meantime,to eke out a living. That is how the game is played and all at the cost of the tax-payer and the poor who do not get even a square meal a day.

All governing institutions are meant for old fuddy duddies. Look at central and state service tribunals, regulatory commissions, enquiry commissions, with 50 extensions, ombudsmen, planning Boards regulators for insurance. After making life miserable for Aam Aadami they make is more so as regulators. They can not rule against the rules made by them.
It is a dubious device to reward the “MERITORIOUS WORK”. The central Planning Commissions is the heaviest of paid holiday white elephant resort and should be abolished.

If authorities find it difficult to abolish it , it should be shifted to Nagaland or Uttranchal from Delhi.

High cost land and infrastructure should not be wasted for low value work could be planning cooliedom
