I think most pretty women know that they are pretty and can be quite offended if you dont admire them. So long as you do it discreetly and dont stand in the street drooling and rubbing your thighs Vic Reeves style

i think women in general would be more likely to be genuinely offended at u calling people old shrews.... that's pretty low... there's more to people than appearances... beauty really is only skin deep.
as far as answering your question goes, i think most 'pretty' women wouldn't be offended, as long as it's just a glance... it's only natural that people look at things that they find attractive - whether it be a woman looking at a man, or visa versa.
and incase u think the reason behind my first comment is because i am an 'old shrew', have a look at my 360 page. there are pics of me on there - make your own mind up. not that i'm bothered about whether u think i'm good looking or not - just letting u judge for yourself.

Old lechers, please don't be offended when I say that all women like to be treated like human beings. Yes, we enjoy compliments and admiring glances, but we don't enjoy being talked about and looked at as if we were pieces of meat in a shop window, or performance cars ready to 'go' for anyone.
Havng someone fascinated by talking to you is fine. That feeling that someone is talking to your breasts because he hardly ever raises his eyes to your face and doesn't seem to be listening to what you're saying... that's not. Having someone's head turn when you walk by is fine, but for most women, having guys drooling and whistling and catcalling as you walk down the street is just embarrassing.
Your whole attitude shows up in the last line. It makes you sound like a naughty schoolboy trying to pretend to Mom that you didn't have your hand in the cookie jar, not a real man looking at a real woman. You can be honest with pretty women, but try being polite and treating them like people rather than commodities. You'll get further.

It's a funny thing - it depends on the look and the person giving it. Some guys can look a woman up and down and she won't mind, whereas a glance from another man would make her cringe. For instance, I've got colleagues that will look at me and smile in an appreciative way and that's nice, but there's this one guy who sneaks looks at my breasts and it gives me the heeby jeebies.

I always adopted the policy of showing my admiration for a pretty or attractive women openly to that woman. I was never short of girl/women friends and I have had a great life.

LOL, no, not at all, provided you don't say anything horrible or try to touch me. If anything, it gives me a little temporary confidence boost. To be honest, not many look away after they've realised I've seen them - It's actually me that gets embarrassed and looks away teehee.

I don't mind being looked at. If i see a good looking chap, i'd look at him too. I think it's just human nature to eye up someone you find attractive. I'd even look at a girl if i thought she was really pretty. I just dread the day when i walk past a building site and the guys ignore me! lol.

Hey, it's instinct for men to look at women, but it's good manners not to be too obvious about it.
If you look away when you realize you've been caught, that should satisfy the requirements of etiquette.

No, as long as it's not a leer, or cheap comments about legs, breasts or bums. I'm flattered by a glance or a friendly conversation, personally.
