if it revs loudly, that sounds like your in too low of a gear and need to gear up if you're in second, go to third, and if in third, go to fourth. and on the other side of the coin, if the car get sluggish, then you're in too high of the gear and need to gear down if in Fourth, go to third and if in third, go to second. if you have a tach in the dash that would help solve everything.

Downshift to a lower gear (3rd, 2nd or even 1st, if going up a mountain). A vehicle w/ a standard transmisson uses the 3 forward gears for power - 4th & 5th gears are considered to be "overdrive" gears and are used when you have speed and wish to reduce the rpm of the engine. Talk to a big rig trucker about shifting during uphill climbs and steep downhill speeds.

yes, you need to downshift when going up a hill. Try downshifting one gear until you feel you can make it up the hill easily, but if your in 5th or 6th (depending on car) and drop it into 1st you will fly thru the windshield lol

yes, when you go uphill you usually need to downshift. You can feel it in the engine if you need to downshift. What you described sounds like you do need to downshift it.

for starters you're able to desire to locate a hill you are able to practice on devoid of the different site visitors. give up close to the backside of the hill so which you do no longer roll too some distance in case you are not getting it stunning away. there is what i call the component of takeoff with your seize (the component the place you permit up on the seize and push on the gasoline). you're able to desire to overview for particular the place that's once you carry your foot. in case you're stopped on the hill with the two the seize and brake pressed down start to slowly permit up on the seize till you experience the motor vehicle start to choose to take off. do no longer permit up on the seize each and every of how, yet merely on the component of takeoff. in the adventure that your transmission is sweet then once you start to allow off the brake it is going to stay placed, then you definately can supply it some gasoline and stale you bypass. in case you roll returned basically somewhat save attempting. permit me comprehend if this works for you.
