I'm a student and i'm curious about this social contract thing. Its been a long time now that Malaysia have this social contract but I want to know Does this contract have an Expiry date..please explain in detailed..if can with source of info..Thanks alot

There is no written social contract.. What the politicians mean by social contract in Malaysia, I think, is the agreements which past leaders reached in drafting the nation's Constitution. Since the Constitution does not have an expiry date, so does the social contract. Nevertheless, the Malaysian Parliament has the power to amend the provisions contained in the constitution with a two-third majority. This means that all the provisions contained therein may have their respective "expiry dates" if the parliament decides to amend/abolish them. The source of information which you can use is the Malaysian Constitution.

Social Contract does not expire because it is the duty of the government to provide its people with cheap social welfare benefits.
