Do you find yourself reading multiple books at a time or do you read one whole book and then go to the next?

I read the whole book but I have an obsession or call it a fear of not have at least three books in my possession, so when I finish 1 and can immediately start on another.

I have always kept a book list of what I read.

Mainly because I have read so many, there have been times that my family will buy something I have already read.

I cannot stand it when I read a book I don't like but I do have 2 on my book list that I have made a note that, I was not able to meet the challenge and read the whole book.

What on earth would we do, if Hitler was able to accomplish what he started and came to our country to burn our books?

“ If you can read this thank a teacher and since it’s in English, thank a soldier !! ”

Thanks for the question.

I tend to do 3 at a time:

1 non-fiction (usually a historical biography)
1 Fiction (usually related to the non-fiction book, for example, I read Les Miserables while reading about Napoleon III's empire)
1 anthology of short stories --for light reading while on the toilet

I find that this works best for me, but may be a little scatterbrained for most people. What it does for me is helps me see the same story from both an analytical and an artistic point of view.

It depends. Right now I have two books going. I've got a hardcover copy of Terry Pratchett's Men At Arms in my room for when I'm at home and want to read, and a paperback copy of Something From the Nightside by Simon R. Green for my "walking around" book because it fits in my pocket.

I always read one book at a time. Reading many at once is just too confusing. You end up mixing and matching the plots and you create a whole new book youself.

i am always reading more than one at a time. mainly because i get very emotionally invested in books and when i get the end of one, i start to get sad that it's over, so if i know i have another book already started, it's an easier transition. i know, kind of silly, but oh well.

Usually I read more than one at a time. Although it is usually if I am finding it hard to get through one, I will start another and read the other one in very short bursts.

I often find myself reading multiple books at a time. It happens, just happens. Often a long snakey tale bores me up so I have to look out for something better- for a change.

I always read a book for myself and I have one that I read outloud to my children. After reading about a paragraph, it usually comes right back to you. But, I also read while watching t v. It really drives my kids crazy!
