m = (4 - 2) / (3 - 4)
m = (2) / (-1)
m = - 2
y - 4 = (-2) (x - 3)
y = - 2x + 6 + 4
y = - 2x + 10

If you are looking for an equation for those two points:

y = mx + b is the slope intercept form of an equation where m is the slope (the change in y / the change in x) and b is the y-intercept or the place the graph of the line crosses the y axis, the point where x - 0 or (0,b)

For (4,2) (3,4)
m = (2-4) / (4-3)
m = -2/1
m = -2

y = mx + b SUBSTITUTE the value for m
y = -2x + b To find b SUBSTITUE one of the poins (x,y) into this equation. For (4,2)
y = -2x + b
2 = -2(4) + b
2 = -8 + b ADD 8 to both sides
10 = b

Therefore the equation is:
y = -2x + 10 ANSWER

CHECK by using the other point (3,4)
4 = -2(3) + 10
4 = -6 + 10
4 = 4 it checks out

Mid point of the join of (4, 2); (3, 4) is
(7/2, 3) from 7 = (4+3)/2 ; 3 = (2+4)/2.
Line through the points (4, 2); (3, 4) is
y --2 = --2(x --4) from its slope m is given by --2 = (4 --2)/(3 --4).
Distance between the points (4, 2);(3, 4) is
sqrt5 = sqrt[(4 --3)^2 + (2 --4)^2]
