In 2000 I had my daughter and at that time i got my tubes tied just in the past year or so i have been having irregular periods so i talked to my doctor she put me on birth control pills. Now I started them a week ago sunday (got done with my period on that day) and then wednesday (yesterday) started bleeding again pretty heavily and its only been 9 days since it stopped could this be from the birth control pills? Please any advice would help have not been on birth control since 1993 and that was good for 5 yrs I dont know what to do

They can cause irregular periods plus they pose a large wrisk of side affects. Since you have had your tubes tied and you need it to control your bleeding I would suggest Depo pravera shots you only need one every 3 mouths and your periods will slow way down with very little bleeding. Ask your doctor about it as the one you are on is not agreeing with you?

Yes, this bleeding can be as a result of trying to adjust to being on the birth control pills but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

You just started them hun. It's completely normal to have some irregularity until the hormone levels in your body balance out with that chemical intervention. You should notice a better cycle within another month or two.
