It is unnecessary and detracts from the point of being there. There's the obvious problem of potential damage to books with spilt drinks. Self discipline is a valuable commodity and all students should have the self discipline to keep eating and drinking to the correct times and places. The only exception would be a diabetic.

First of all, thank you very much to the kind person who recognized the fact that diabetic kids may *need* to eat something or drink some orange juice as soon as possible if they know that their blood sugar is going too low. (My Type1 son always carried a honey bear around with him.)

Having been a teacher and having a DH who is still a teacher, we know that most teachers do not allow food in the classroom. DH was really surprised last year when a HS girl reached into her backpack, pulled out an ear of corn (!) and proceeded to chomp on it. Since it was a first for him (and did strike him as rather funny), he said nothing. He waited until the end of class to write her up for detention.

I would think that the kid had no respect for his teacher or anyone else in the class. It's distracting for everyone.
Unless the kid has a medical problem like diabetes, there isn't any reason why they would need to eat in class.
Just my opinion.

properly i'm no longer a instructor yet i'm a pupil. listed under are my ideas: a million. If we are eating we of course are not speaking through fact we are eating. 2. as long as we're not chomping or doing something gross what does it impression anybody else. 3. once you consume this is supplying you with ideas ability. 4. To be honest this is greater handy for me to pay interest while i'm doing something. If i'm listening doing no longer something something will distract me, yet while i'm drawing or something i'm able to pay attention greater acceptable (do no longer ask it particularly is merely me). 5. could you extremely have the guy eating and relieving themselves or them having their minds on lunch the the remainder of the hour? desire I helped! i do no longer think of pupils could desire to be punished for eating.

They dont b/c I dont allow it. They are at school, not home. They are in my class, not the cafeteria.

Your job, as a student, is to:
#1 Do your job! Your job is to pay attention and do your work.
#2: Not distract other students......food and drink is distracting to other students.
#3: Not distract me...............I find it rude.......

Eat and drink on your own time, not mine...........

whats wrong with this? i actually like the teachers that allow me to drink or eat in class. as long as i clean up after myself and paying attention i dont see why a teacher would not approve of this.
