In 2012 our sun will briefly be aligned with the galactic equator. That's something that's happened countless times in the past and absolutely nothing happened to the sun, Earth, or any of the other bodies in our solar system. The predicted catastrophe is nothing more substantial than what a few greedy writers have dreamed up to sell books. The end-of-the-world scenario is based on some mysterious, totally unknown force that's supposed to wreak havoc. Only problem is that none of it...repeat, NONE of it has any basis in scientific fact whatsoever.

I don't believe that the magnetic field will flip in 2012 so suddenly, but it will happen eventually.
Something odd will happen 2012, but I don't think it's anything to do with the 'end of the world.'

Unfortunately, yes. People are.
And God help us all if this generation of young Americans think that finding 50 websites sympathetic with the fad they've taken up is what has been known for centuries as "research".

I doubt it. This is another of those Coast to Coast AM stories that just seems to disappear when the date arrives.
That show, I used to listen to it, until George Norry pulled that bogus seance show, I haven't listened since.
