That 3cm won't make that much difference and in fact it is easier to learn on a smaller board. Try this snowboard size calculator:

It says that for a beginner of your size and weight that you should have between 143 to 149 board - shorter for park and longer for freeride.

The things you didn't mention is your age and how fast you like to go. If you are young and are going to grow some more, I would suggest a little longer board just because you are going to outgrow the board in 1 or 2 seasons. If you like to go fast, as you become a better rider you would want a longer board. But if you are full grown and content at lower speeds, this board would probably work great for you.

Good Luck

you should be on at least a 149. I am 5'7 128 and that is what I ride. I would actually suiggest that you step onto something around a 151. It will be more board for you to work with and you wont get the chatter of the smaller board.

When I started I was on a 152. I liked the stability of a larger deck under my feet. In no way was it too much for me to handle. I am on a 149 now b/c my standard riding style contains 75% jibbing. I can go into this more if you would like, but I will stop there.

Look for at least a 150-152

G, no offense, but ur on crack! A 143 would be better suited for a chick who is 5ft 120lbs.

depends on your riding style, you will lose a lil speed, but your manueverability and stuff will be better for tricks and jumping, plus a shorter board may support a lighter rider, and maybe even be too narrow and cause toe drag
