a lot of my friends come to me with their problems...and it seems like the basis of their problems (esp. romantic probs.) is that they're afraid to be alone...i was an only child for 15 years and my parents raised me to be pretty independent, so it feels like i dont understand where they're comin from when they come to me w/ problems like this

I think it is a lack of confidence to be on their own.
