I will go with Rafael Nadal.
He's almost there. He is mentally very very strong and is on his way to become world #1.
Cheers!!!

I think because of how the rankings work, Nadal will very briefly hold the top rank. The way I see it is that Nadal won't be losing any ground on clay anytime soon, but Djokovic will begin stealing some points from Federer in the hard court season. This will allow Nadal to hold more points than both Federer and Djokovic, but once Federer does finally begin to go away, Djokovic will have no real competition left and will be able to wrestle the #1 rank from Nadal. This may seem a little far-fetched, but it really does make sense if you think about it.

OK you said when federer does slip, that can be in what 2-3 years so i think by then Andy murray will be a force as he's got the tools the weapons and touch,it's just a matter of putting it all together,Novak is definetely there and i think he could maybe challenge nadal for the number 2 by next year, but those three i think will challenge to take the number 1 spot from federer when federer starts to slip that is.

Hey =] Out of those, I think Nadal will take over for a bit - though I don't see Feds slipping anytime soon (thankfully) - but not for too long. The way I saw Ferrer playing in the Masters this past week, I'd have to say he's really good! Personally I haven't seen him play anywhere else, but this time, he proved to be very skillful. It could well be him. I'm not sure though, no one knows ;] Enjoy the semifinals everyone xx

Definitely Nadal. You know, he is one of the fastest rising star in the tennis world, at the age of 21 he has collected 23 titles including 3 grand slam titles, and even federer at the age of 21 only collected less than 10 tittles and no grand slam title. Based on my research, most of the great tennis players like bjorn borg, mcenroe, and connors had won 20 something titles in their early 20's, so if Nadal keep his performace well it's not possible he will be the number of the world in the next 2-3 years (i'm sure next year federer still hold the number one ranking). I predicted that Nadal will collect a lot of tittles from the clay court tournament (he is unbeatable on clay) and at least collect 60 something titles in his career.

I would like to see James Blake do well, but I know he's not going to take that spot at the moment. It may even be a couple years before Federer slips. I think Nadal would be the most likely one to overtake him.

I say Novak Djokovic. he's determined and has got a nice all-round game. Nadal will still dominate clay for awhile..

It depends when federer loses his world no1 spot, if its quite a long time, then it could be anyone, but still its more than likely going to be Nadal !!
