Hi, I am brand new to the site, so sorry! I am trying to set up a wireless network within my home, and have an Actiontec Wireless-ready dsl gateway connected directly to my P.C. The wireless is not active on the modem. With this connection to my PC, I am trying to create a home network wireless system that my laptop can use to access the internet with. I have been successful in creating a wireless network between the PC and laptop using the Actiontec USB Wireless Adaptor (802.11b) connected to my PC, and Actiontec Wireless PC Card (802CAT 1) connected to my laptop. However, attempts to bridge the wireless to dsl lan connections have not helped, and allowing shared internet options have failed as well, giving an error message relating to the IP addresses. First of all, I bought the Wireless PC Card in hopes of directly plugging it into the Gateway to make the modem wireless. Is this the right card? And secondly, if not, how can I share the internet connections? Thanks a bunch!!

access your modem by cable and set it up to a manual wireless gateway. remove the cable connection
then let all of the computers find it.

you better off to change the modem to a router and configure all the gateways manually. The computers only talk to the router. The computers talk to each other through the router.
