You need a business number in order to open a business banking account, then you can apply for a business credit card, operating loan, or credit line through the bank. You also need that business number to get a vendors permit etc. All wholesalers also need the business number before dealing with you and giving you their price list. Just so you know, it is difficult for a brand new business to get substantial credit until they have been in business for a few years. Having an investor, or using personal credit sources until that happens is very common. Good luck!

Yes, however the Business (in UK, a Limited Company) has a Credit Score just like you do .. a new Business will have no history so chances are they will ask for a 'Guarantor' (i.e. some-one to guarantee the Business loans) ..

Be careful .. if you guarantee the initial bank account (loan, overdraft) and the Business ever gets into difficulties (10 or 20 years later) the bank will dust off the guarantee contract and come knocking on your door for the money...
