Speaking strictly for myself I would enjoy a good depression. I have plenty of "hard" money tucked away so my family wouldn't suffer. The price of everything would fall making my money more valuable. And with the massive unemployment I could find skilled craftsmen to remodel my kitchen who would actually show up on time and do some work. And I wouldn't have to pay a plumber $28 and hour to fix the leaky pipe in my basement. And it wouldn't take him 3 DAYS to replace one 2 ft section of pipe.

You gotta do what you gotta do. It's funny how most of us believe that something like that is impossible for the most part. I would guess for most it would be as much a surprise as 911 was. There were people who weren't surprised by 911 you know.

So if the great depresion comes I would do like the others...

Do whatever I can to save money.

Grow my own food if possible. Probably raise chickens.

Find no cost ways to enjoy life - the old ways.

Of course, I'd cut back on all costs such as electricity.

I wouldn't buy the car I am thinking about buying. I'd stick with my motorcycle.

If I didn't have work I would spend time improving what I have with hard labor around the house.

I would plan for the end to the depression.

Same as before; grow food in the backyard, get to know the neighbors and help each other. I don't quite think there will be a great depression again soon, but I do expect some hardships within the next 15-20 years, due to world events.

Move to a country that is currently supporting the dollar instead of devaluing it! Not every nation will be effected the same way! Some countries aren't as stupid as this nation!

well, we were so poor we had to learn to cook from scratch, depend on farming / canning food from the garden for the winter months. bake our own bread, raise chickens for eggs, etc. if it came id know how to survive. i know how to live & save money doing it and still have a few nice things buying them one at a time.
