You probably live near a Toastmasters meeting. Go to it, and ask for the help of the people there. They're filled with stories. Or you could ask someone to tell you about their path to learning how to speak in public, and then write a story about that, with a happy ending about how they're now a good speaker. Someone looking for their keys all over the house...
They check every odd place they can, the freezer, the couch, their pants in the dirty cloths, the bowl marked "keys"... all to no avail...
they eventually give up and start to leave and find the keys in the door outside....
Make it a point to have to UNLOCK the door from inside before they open it..

Do you read? Get a couple _Best American Short Stories_ books and make an adaptation of a story.

Put on a serious play with stuffed animals. Look to Shakespeare, get your idea, and make it really melodramatic. Instant hilarity. Gotta have a great soundtrack, and if you have digital imaging technology, you can remove how you control them.
