My mom and I will be alone this Thanksgiving. My grandma, uncle, aunt, and cousin want to eat by themselves. =(

My mom and uncle don't get along. My uncle is a mean, sarcastic person. And my grandma complains all the time about money and doesn't really talk to my mom and I. As far as my grandma is concerned, we are not part of her family. It really hurts.

Yes. Which is why Thanksgiving is special to me now-I have a lot more to be thankful for
Be thankful you & your mom have each other; have some fun-do some silly stuff that you wouldn't dare do in front of your other relatives!

I'm sorry. I have been alone for Thanksgiving. It was about 5 years ago. I walked over to the shopping center with some bread, and fed some birds. I was their about 4 hours and a truck with a family came by. They asked me what I was doing and I told them.2 hours passed and the women stepped out and gave me a Thanksgiving dinner. I thanked them and they left. I was alone eat ting with the birds.

I'd rather be alone on Thanksgiving. Jackass in-laws and the ******* Dallas Cowboys. Being alone is a party compared to that.

I'm sorry to hear that and I hope that it turns out to be a good Thanksgiving for you regardless.
Yes, I have spent Thanksgiving alone but sometimes a day is just a day even if it is a holiday to others.

aaww I know how you feel, for the past 9 years I've only had my father to celebrate Thanksgiving with, we never made a meal, some years we went out to a resturant, some years we didn't do anything at all. But this year I was invited by my boyfriend's family, it makes me not take it for granted.

My husband and I were thanksgiving "orphans" last year and we will be again this year. I will cook the same things, just on a smaller scale.
