I live in Los Angeles and at the time of my divorce I wasn't working. I was able to file a fee waiver at the court so that my divorce papers could be filed at no cost. I paid no filing fees or anything. Check with your local courthouse about that. I don't know where you live but I downloaded my forms from the courts website. This saved me close to about $400.

go to court house and pick up a fee waiver application at family law section if you qualify then your divorce is free and they have a pro per clinic at the court house that helps and instructs you on filling out the paper. im from california but you can call them and get your local courthouse instructions first

In the US there are legal aid attorneys that will help you. Contact your local District Attorney's office. They can probably direct you.

most states have people for that for low incomes.. check your local goverment or state programs they can help you or guide you in the right way.. or even your courthouse might know.. good luck
