to me its pretty simple.....we have immensely powerful weapon, nukes, that we don't want other radical countries to have....if talks and sanctions go nowhere....why not just bomb them before they get the nukes?

yes, i know other countries like russia, china, india have nukes too but they also have something to lose (which is their country, economy, population etc)....iran on the other hand is radical and controlled not by a system but rather few radical leaders who can do any thing to black mail other countries if they have nukes.
i am not too concerned about Iran using the nukes (if they acquire it) but just the idea of Iran threating Israel, Iraq and other countries to get what they want.
its pretty simple....like the game of poker....if the losing person has few chips, he/she wouldn't hesitate to go 'all in' compared to a person who is on the top of the board.
why let iran have the bomb...lets bomb it before we worsen the situation by electing hippies for 09.

I think if Harry Truman were alive today and had a conversation with you about why he bombed Japan, he would have to talk you out of this. It is a different world now. I know you support Bush, but I don't even think in his heart he could "Nuke" them." He knows there are innocent people and little children who would be bombed. Could you nuke a baby? Think about it. Anyone this impulsive will never become President. You should read, "The Armchair General". I read it while I was in the Army at the Pentagon. Even for Generals war is the last choice.

What right have you got to drop nukes on a country that
has never done anything to you. Havent you learned
anything form IRAQ . Israel is an illegal entity and holocaust
was the reason for its creation . This is Planet Earth and
not Planet USA. There is no proof that Iran is building a

Iran acts within its self interest, Ahmadinejad may come across as a wacko, but he is a figurehead, nothing more.
His power is limited, the real power is the supreme council that actually runs the show. And they are anything but crazy.

The difference is killing babies doesnt save american lives. The argument is that using nukes would save American lives... Jane not sure what country you live in, but in the US noone is turned away from the ER, and there are hundreds of free clinics for anyone that needs it. Kristin - when was the last time a prolifer killed anyone at an abortion clinic? * * * * * * * * * * * Its not our fault if terrorists use human shields. Its sad, and we should try to minimize casualties, but we cant let that stop us. To compare abortion with accidental civialian casualites just shows a diconnection from reality. War is a nessesary evil. the Allies had to kill thousands of civialians to stop Hitler, to stop imperial Japan. How are you suppost to deal with someone who hides behind womena nd children as they target other women and children. If a gunman came into your house holding his own child infront of him as a shield, and the only way to save your family was to kill them both what would you do?

Lucky for the American people, you are not our President. We always have to worry about the person with the red phone and THE BUTTON to signal a "go". What you propose would most certainly lead to WW111, and who knows how many allies we have after this President has alienated everybody. In a pinch, don't you think the Arabs would stick together? Who would Russia and China support? We should avoid another war...not start one!
