They will never legalize it until they figure out a way to regulate it. If they regulate it, then they can tax it. It has nothing to do with the effects of marijuana, it has to do with the inability to tax it.

Richie Cunningham is running for president? I think you mean Ron Paul, not Ron Howard.
Don't count on it anytime soon. Ron Paul's stand on the matter isn't necessarily to legalize it,although he has mentioned it in passing, his stand is that there are too many government regulations in our lives. Even if he were elected,he would have a heck of a time getting other members of the government to go along with it.

It will never happen, and do not believe someone whom says they will because when have they done what they say??? Simply put, it is too easy to grow and too difficult to tax. This is the reason it will never happen. If the government could control it then maybe. We have had an alternative fuel before the engine, it is called grain alcohol, but it is to easy to make and could not be controlled to be taxed like gasoline. Anyone can make it and no one would buy or pay taxes on it. It is all about taxes.

there are petitions going around in Michigan for medical marijuana but I don't think its going to be legal to the general public for a very long time. Hopefully though it will pass for medical uses.

Here in Oregon, it is legal for medical purposes. I keep worrying that it is soon going to become legal for the general public, though, because we unfortunately have a really bad drug problem here and it is just so commonly used anyway.

i doubt it, the government makes WAY too much money off of it, medical marijuana, so they dont want to make it legal cause then cancer patients or people in sever pain would just buy it off dealers, its like the same reason cigarettes are legal,
but it would be sooooo awesome if it was legalized=D

Honestly, I believe the government should not be able to tell me what I can/cannot put into my body. But, I don't see it happening any time soon.

It is a non-issue that most candidates don't want to discuss and would never support. It will be decades to come, if ever.
De-criminalize possession, yes. Legalize, no.
