It's way too early to tell. There will probably be a deal since Bonds will most likely not want to go to trial. Probation is a more likely punishment. Hes got the $$ for good lawyers.

Dear stoneros,
It's really hard to say at this point. The feds have been trying to go after Bonds for quite awhile now- so it's hard to conceive that they would proceed now if they didn't have something concrete.
Right now sources (ie: espn.com) are suggesting that he could get up to 30 years if convicted. i guess it would depend on what evidence there is- at which point i think Bonds and His lawyers would either strike a plee bargain for a reduced sentence or fight it if they felt that the feds did not have anything legitimate.
It's hard to imagine that the feds don't have something solid-- and it must be a recent development or you would wonder why they waited until after he broke the Homerun record to proceed.

It's impossible to tell if he will serve time or not. I've heard from many sources that if he is convicted, he will serve in the range of 25-30 years.
Lying under oath is a very serious crime!

A slap on the hand. Then let the Commissioner go after Sosa, McGuirre and the other 78 guys that used them.

yeah he will go to jail, if the Federal government indites you, you know they have you he will probably do anything between 3 to 15 years. it would probably be easier for him if he was 18 year old rich white girl. he would be out in a week

my guess is six months. martha stewart got mega money and couldn't buy herself probation. the feds don't play and they didn't spend all that time and money not to make an example out of him. he's doing some kind of time.

they seem pretty intent on making an example of him to deter any future people from getting froggy
that said i dont think it will be a long sentence, but rather a symbolic sentence; though he did lie . . .
