Legal definitions vary state to state but generally it means any sexual act other than traditional male/female copulation.
So masturbation and oral sex between a man and a woman could be considered sodomy.

It started when Adam said Eve didn't want sex any more, so the man from the neighboring garden, said, "So do me?"
Adam did the fellow, and then did his wife in the same fashion (and did Eve that way as well after she became an apple eater).
That garden was of course then named Sodome, later shortened to Sodom, and it's favorite sport has come to be called Sodomy.
There then came a group of anti-fun long beards who said the behavior was interfering with their worship - as they could not safely kneel on a prayer rug anymore - and then when the tale of a shaggy dog got caught up in the narration - but that's another story.

So anal sex is one form of sodomy, oral sex is another form of sodomy, even a man rubbing his penis between a woman's breasts is a form of sodomy. It can be consensual, or non-consensual, both are sodomy.
