Maybe that plays into why I don't have many woman friends. Pretty and smart woman are very intimidating. I feel like if I am friends with them they will get all the attention. Sometimes I feel like if I was friends with someone more amazing then me then everyone would want her and I'd be left in the dust. Lol, maybe I would want her too. I have never meet a woman that is smart and pretty at the same time except me. I think if I was around smart pretty woman I would feel very out of control. I don't know why.Though admit it, it is because I am very insecure. Though unlike most woman, I never talk about other woman negatively behind their back. Actually I have never had those come out of me till now. My insecurity needs some fixing.........
One of my best friends in high school told me that she was quite jealous of me. Men seemed to pick me over her. I just could not see myself wanting to be friends with some who made me feel like an ugly duckling. Again insecurity.
Though men seem to be the same way but they don't talk about it. What do you think?

Depends on the girl.
The typical woman against woman is between two fairly high maintenance individuals.
I think the more regular looking girls are ok with eachother.
It really all boils down to where the woman finds her self-esteem. If she is ok with defeat and find that its more worthwhile for her to walk away from things than to participate in a superficial battle, then she is probably pretty mellow.
If the woman feels that a "loss" means she is inferior, she will be catty.

Oh my gosh, yes!!! I don't feel this way but I know that others do because they talk about it and I know that others do because I have been on the receiving end. Women are so insecure. They are always competing with other women and so concerned about being the center of attention. Who cares? The way I look at it is that we are all in this together and if we start devouring one another like Pirahnas we have nothing left.

Maybe if they are young and haven't experienced life yet. The Older we get the Smarter we get. I have great Women friends. I would never betray them. You really have to be a Friend to have a Good Friend. Most who do that, just need to grow up.

YES, and the more attractive and smart the worse it is.
It use to be older women would take a younger women "under their wing" and help them. Now that is less and less likely. Look at Hillary... so many fear a smart woman. Sad... really!

Yes, this is very strange. They all hate prettier girls with better bodies. They all compete to look better than each other. They all try to steal each other's men. They all help plot to drive a man away from another woman. Yet, they all talk and hug each other.
Very strange, those females.

Your friend was right. Women are very catty and backstabbing. They love to gossip about other women.
