You are learning a valued lesson from asking this question... 99% of Americans are uneducated and ignorant.
As you can tell from the answers, they don't even know what communism is... pure communism does not have a leader nor a dictator. It has a governing body for dispersement purposes only of community goods and services.
To answer your question, throughout the entire history of man, all capitalist nations (may not have been called this at the time but the concept of a free market is the bond) have all failed within 200 years on average. The USA is just over 200 years old and the masses are starting to become uneasy as history repeats itself.
The reason capitalism eventually fails is due to the huge divided between the rich and poor that always seems to develop. This results in an inevitable revolution by the masses.

Hopefully not while I'm alive.
I can't understand why people who seem to love communism so much don't just move to a communist country instead of trying to change the best country in the world.
EDIT: Ah, forgive me. In your "fantasy" world communism wouldn't be under a dictator. LOL
EDIT: Well I see you are picking me out.
Honey, as I've told you before...there is no such thing as an "ideal" communist country. Never has been and never will be; no matter how much you want it. I do not know if you are young and naive or a troll and I know better than answering your questions.
Please do research on this issue. You truly make yourself look silly every time you ask this question.

Communism may be close to an ideal political philosophy, depending on whose definition we are talking about (I would lean more towards Libertarian Socialism, aka Anarchy, myself).
However, these ideals cannot work in practice, as history has shown, as they don't provide a reliable method in their structure of ensuring that the government does not become tyrannical, dictatorial, fascist, etc.
I still think a Constitutional Republic is the best compromise there is - the people are "sovereigns without subjects" and assign particular roles to be handled by the government. It is even proven to work. Of course the current state of the US .gov is rather far from what it was created to be. Switzerland is probably a better overall practical example.

God it's scary to know that we have brainwashed people like you out there.
Hopefully America will never become a communist country.
JJ, if you love communism so much, then why don't you move to one?
You won't.
Because you're all talk and you have no idea what you're talking about.
You're taking the freedoms that millions of Americans have sacrificed themselves for in war for granted.

If the midsection and dealing class is destroyed, I assure that's no longer communism. the U.S., China and North Korea are against the essence of what socialism is, that's a society democratically controlled with the aid of the staff. the folk in capability purely use words like communism and socialism and talked a great game to benefit capability, then became into totalitarian dictatorships. Communism is meant to be democratic. Communism is quite like the Zapatistas and EZLN in Chiapas, Mexico. u.s. isn't turning communist, u.s. is a corporatocracy wherein the relative few enormous buisnesses, companies, conglomerates and bankers administration our government whilst conserving us all stupid and comfortable with quickly nutrition and shitty television exhibits some bunch of douche luggage in a house in New Jersey.

When Hell freezes over. The Bush administration has pushed America so far toward fascism (complete with a private mercinary army) that it would take an act of God to bring it back to true democracy, let alone push it toward communism.
