I have one linksys wired router where the internet plugs into, and then i have the wireless router linked to the wired router. I want the second wireless router that is downstairs to send a signal too so i can connect to just one big network wherever i am. I can not figure out how to link the two wireless routers obviously since there are not two uplink ports.

hi! make wireless router 1 connected direcly to the internet (DSL modem to wireless router 1) Make wireless router 1 as a router function and DHCP server function. Make sure the internet working. Now, for the wireless router 2 downstairs, configure it to be an access point function. It means these two wireless devices will connect via wireless mode. Yo should find a place where these two devices have enough distance to communicate. Read the manual or visit www.linksys.com for information. For the wired router. dont connect it, your wireless router will do all the job. hope it helps!

you should'nt actually be using wireless routers in this configuration, you should be using wireless Access Points and run them in Bridge mode.

However, even in a 5000 square foot house a wireless "device" located somewhere near/in the middle is going to be reachable from most all places inside the house, and in some cases outside as well.

The main router (linksys) where the internet connects to the WAN port -- thats fine. Run a cable from a LAN port on that router to your other router's LAN port. It should work.

definite i'd get the phone line chop up in to 2 with a splitter , and strengthen one end for your room , then plug on your 2d router , be carefull that both routers do no longer intrude with eachother and also you may favor to set one to a unique channel.
