AMD processors provides 128 kb for L1
and Intel provides just 64 kb
but L2 is 512kb for amd and 2/4 mb for intel
and what relation it has with ram's Mhz
bcoz some one said to me that if we are useing E6550 or greater then the 800mhz and 677mhz ram will have not much difference plz try to solve all question
and sorry for disorder of questions

Actually both are important. L1 cache resides inside the processor itself which acts as a repository storing the most recently used jobs. L2 resides inbetween RAM and Processor. Its function is same as that of L1 cache. L2 cache tries to makes up for the speed mismatch between RAM and Processor. And always L2 will have more stroage capacity as it stores much more data than L1 cache.

A cache is a memory that makes the processor faster because it doesn't have to wait as long to lookup data that was recently accessed. L1 is the cache that is right next to the processor, L2 is connected to L1. The registers inside the processor are the fastest memory..then the L1 cache is next fastest, followed by L2. The bigger the cache the more potential your computer will have for not having to make a slow access to main memory.

they are memory holding levels. the L2 cache is more important because it feeds the L1 cache. th L1 cache is a fixed amount of memory, however you can buy processors with a bigger L2 cache.
