I'm bored and not creative enough to come up with a subject. I want to write a story. What are some depressing, sad, tragic, and/or indignant topics to write about? Serious answers only

How about a guy visiting his grandfather in the nursing home. When he arrives, Pappy is sleeping, so the guy helps himself to a bowl of peanuts. A short while later, Pappy wakes up and they reminisce for a while. As the guy gets ready to leave, he tells Pappy, "I ate all your peanuts. I'll swing by the store and get you another bag". Pappy says "Don't worry about it. I can't eat them, so I just suck the chocolate off them".

Write about a man who is losing his life to ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), which causes your body to slowly shut down to the point where you cannot move. Steven Hawkings has it, so your brain still functions, but you can't do anything else on your own.
Anyway... as an experimental treatment, his brain is transferred to a jar and hooked up to a communication device with a transmitter & receiver; a brain-dead patient at a nearby hospital has donated his body to science, and they equip the body with a transmitter & receiver so the brain can control the body remotely.
Just as soon as the signal is connected, the hero of the story (the guy with ALS), decides to use his new body to do something he loves, but hasn't gotten to do in a while: (fill in the blank).
As he is just about to begin his new life, the power at the facility where his brain is stored goes out. The backup generator malfunctions; his brain loses vital nutrients and dies. To everybody around him, he just falls over -- or "shuts off."

Try reading some books that r depressing and sad. They give you inspiration. But remember to use only YOUR ideas and not copy the storyline of the book.

think about the possibility of there not being a god or an afterlife.
it inspired me to write some of my deepest work (back when i believed)
loneliness is also a deep issue. how we're all truly alone in this world..etc.
