this is an easy question because I learned everything about computers many years ago.
When I was studying it, the teacher told us that it takes 1000 megabites to equal1 gigabite.

The first answer is wrong. This is an extremely common misconception and marketing tool for internet and transfer speeds. 1 megaBIT is much different than a megaBYTE. A megabit is a million bits A megabyte is a million bytes there are 8 bits in a byte So 1 megabit = 0.125 megabytes. This is why an internet company can say that they offer "5000kbps" internet speed, where "kb" is kilobits. 5000 kilobits per second is actually only 625 kilobytes per second.

Note: Many people confuse speed rates with memory. Memories are always powers of 2, so a GigaBYTE of memory would be 1024 MegaBYTES. However, speeds are not powers of 2 and therefore a Gigabit is composed of 1000 Megabits.
