I skipped school today, I wanted to go to court with my mom to support her, so there is a good reason i skipped. I forgot that I had three tests today and the grading period for the six weeks ended today. I was failing two classes and I really needed to turn late papers in and take those tests. Now i'm screwed, what should I do? I cant fail.

Ok, the reason I forgot about three tests was because I don't pay much attention in class at all. I remembered about one test but I have a high A in that class so I didn't care. But the other two I was probaly talking to my frineds and didnt hear there was a test until my friend called me earlier.

You should have gone to school then. A mom understands what is really important.

Sorry about that.Seems not much you can do anymore, other than beg the teachers to give you another chance/extend the deadline/let you take the test.
One lesson you need to learn for the rest of your life, is that you set priorities on what's important to YOU, not somebody else, not even your mom.
If you had asked the teachers ahead of time you could be able to be absent and still make up te tests, since the teachers would know the reason.
Now you put them in very difficult situation asking them to make exclusions and look the other way.
Honestly, I think if you fail this time will be the lesson you need to learn and put your ducklings in a row from now on.
Good luck
PS: Oh, yeah, make sure you mention the reasons why you didnt know about the tests

Maybe you mom could contact the school and let them know you were with her at court.she could ask if you would be permitted to hand in your papers tomorrow. You may be able to get permission to write the tests late. You could tell your teachers you are willing to make a contract with them promising to attend classes( if you break the contract by skipping you get a failing grade and no third chance) , ask if you can do extra assignments and write the tests so you have an opportunity to pass your classes. This would require you to make a serious commitment in your education.I know you aren't on here that much anymore.Take care ,EmaWeeE .Good luck

***EDITED

PS-As for your mother, let HER handle that. You're still a kid and you've got your school work, making friends, and so many other things to worry about, hon. I'm sure your mother can handle it on her own. Since you WANTED to go, I assume your mother didn't ask you to. It's nice that you wanted to help your mother out, but she is an adult and I am sure she can probably figure out what she needs to do or who she will need in order to win a court case. You just worry about school and being a kid. That's it.

I'm not trying to be mean, but only logical. Just get that late work in. Ask other students for help on it if you need any, or you can even ask some homework questions here on Y! A. Get it all done somehow and some way.

After you get all your work in, excuse your absence and make up all of those tests. After you've done all of that, ask the teachers if there is anything else that you can do that will bring up your grades. They can't let you know anything unless you ask!

Ask your mother to write a note.
Calmly explain the situation to the teachers & turn in the late work tomorrow.
Ask the teachers if you can take the tests during lunch & after school. Expect that they will say you have to take a 15% lower grade.

Have your mom call the school office tonite and leave a message, or have her call tomorrow morning and have them excuse your absence. She could say she forgot to call it in yesterday, no big deal. If your teachers have a problem with it, she can talk with them about it. Your mom is your best allibi in this mess. Figure it this way, you supported her at court, she can help you out this one time in regards to school.

And I know youre a smart cookie, some credit is better than no credit. Raise a fuss if needed.

Believe it or not, life isn't over if you blow some of your classes. Yeah, it makes things harder, but life can be hard.

You could have gone to school and let your mom fend for herself in court, or you could be with your family in a time of need. I think you made the decision that worked best at the time.

You can always do school another time. My dad graduated from high schoo the same year I did.

Emawee, you did the right thing supporting your mom in court, that was more of an education than you would have received at school. Tell your mom to write you note excusing you and tell your teachers to offer you a makeup test.

Thank you and good day,

You need to take them in FIRST thing tomorrow. Talk honestly with your teacher about where you were today and have your mom talk to them too. If they won't let you take the tests tomorrow, go to the principle and plead your case. People shouldn't be penalized for an absence.

Start fresh the next six weeks. You can do better.

How do you forget that you have 3 different tests? I understand one but three. There isn't a whole lot of advice to give. Go to your teachers and explain your situation. If they won't let you take the tests ask for extra credit.

Be honest with your instructors. They are people too, and they go through things like the rest of us. If they are kind and it's up to them, they will give you another opportunity to turn in your papers and take the exams. I hope everything works out for you. :)
