When I ask, "Do you hate poor people?" I get answers like, "Your mean. People sometimes can't help their financial situations."
How does that person even know what MY opinion is? ...just wondering because people respond that way all the time.

I suppose it's just the way people word their question. It depends on whether you're conducting a clean-poll.
For example, if you were to ask, "Do you believe in killing babies?" You would get 95% of the people to say no. Which makes you pro-life.
or
"Do you believe in abortion?" Which then would lead 50% of those same people to vote yes. Thus, making your question seemingly reflect the pro-choice group.
By asking, "Do you hate poor people?" You make it seem that you yourself hate poor people.
Be careful on how you word your questions, because people tend to look at the questions and answers people give as a reflection of the other's personal beliefs.

its ok to have an opinion, but its not ok to judge.
why would you ask if we hate poor people. watch what you say it will come back and bite you in the a$$ someday.
I taught my kids when they were little to not judge ppl. Dont make fun of ppl for the way they look, their body size, the way they dress, their skin color..their homes..some of the nicest ppl i ever met were "poor" but they were the first to help out others in need.

I love being stupid. I have a t-shirt that I had especially printed with "I'm an Idiot...ask me about it". It's a great conversation starter with the ladies, and I often pick up whilst I am begging for loose change on the corner.

I agree. People believe when you ask a question like this it means this is your personal belief. Not taking into account that maybe you are asking because it is happening to you.
If I said anything in my answer to this question to hurt your feelings I apologize, but I don't think my reply was offensive.

I've noticed that, too. I feel that people often make the assumption that if the person is asking the question, then the person must feel that way as well.

they do that because people jump to conclusions. and a lot of people on here take things really seriously and they get offended, even if someone isnt talking about them. theyre weird..

no i dont hate poor people. i dont hate rich people either. i do however hate rude, inconsiderate people who have nothing better to do with their time than to make somone else's life miserable and are not happy until they accomplish this. dont get offended by people who take it the wrong way. everyone has their own opinion. good luck.
