I can't admit to admiring any one particular senior who regularly contributes, but I would have to say I do admire those few who have exposed their inner selves to the extent that we now have a better understanding of who they are inside. It takes a certain caliber of person to share personal experiences and leave themselves open for possible ridicule or embarrassment.
I know with myself, I have shared some things I probably wouldn't care to admit to people I personally know. Even tho the friends I have kept, are the result of my being interested in their welfare, and they in mine over the many years we've been friends.
And I've found that the people who post most often here
are likely to share a bit more of themselves than those
who merely drop in from time to time. And so we can't learn
anything about them. And I think that is a bit sad. For there is
a special group here. People worth knowing and caring about. People who are maybe unable to get out and
about less freely as others are able to do. And they need
friendships as much as anyone does. And perhaps feel that
these or others like us, are the only friends they have and
can count on for either support, or a kind word. Most of us
have the same needs as the other. We all want a kind word.
A friendly smile, and even a pat on the back at times. Although we might not be able to 'feel' the human touch or
that pat on the back, we can feel the warmth in the
expressiveness of each writer, if it exists. I believe that
Goldwing brought that out, and the replys to his question
are testimony to the caring and warmth that most all of
us here on the seniors category share.
Well I for one am glad that I 'found' this site by accident.
For it has been very worthwhile. I didn't expect to learn,
I expected to help others if I could possibly help from my
life's experiences. And yet, I have learned, what I didn't
before, and that is that our generation has such compassion and understanding for their fellow man, that goes mostly undiscovered by other generations who want to see us as invisible. I believe we all have so much to share with those younger than us, and I hope that they will discover that we are necessary and we do have alot to share and teach. And I hope enough bother to tap into our memory reserves and learn from us. As we each hold volumes of knowlege just from things in life we've all experienced over time. And the things we've witnessed, not just on TV but everyday living. All of the inventions that have been introduced since we were little kids, I couldn't even begin to list. And we here remember so many of them. Things that may be in antique shops today, and are of little use, since they've been replaced with more modern technology. But that isn't to say we have been replaced. No, we still are valuable to society. Now will society take th time to listen?

Really not any one person but several that I think are very nice and so interesting. My favorites are the ones who have interesting questions and answers and are willing to open up a little. There are some really super nice people on here that I look forward to reading their Q & A's. The ones I can't stand? The ones ( actually one) who constantly brag that they've done all, seen all, can do all, have everything and it's always much more and better than others. I always know what questions they will answer. It's always the ones where they can show their ( supposed ) superiority. Talk about opening a can of worms......I guess I did here. Lol

I do love one member in particular who keeps getting kicked off, then reappars with words of warning & other little dittys that I find enjoyable. It makes me wish that I had used another account when I started on this site. Then again...it's a good thing that I didn't & that I won't because I now live an honest life. I still admire that little charmer.....no matter what she says or how she says it.....she just goes big & then goes home! Gotta love that in a person. I know I sure do!

I'm married so I don't secretly admire anyone. I do admire many of the people here though for different reasons. It's fun sharing what we know and have lived through, while getting to know one another better.

Actually, I admire most people on this site....there's so much wit and humor, willingness to be open, obvious and not so obvious talent, wanting to help others with problems, etc. There are only very few that I won't put in this group...the trolls, those who are judgemental and block others whose answers they don't happen to like or agree with, and those who are continually pessimistic.

There are many people I admire on YA, some for their great questions, some for the terrific answers, and some for their imagination and writing ability. There is no one person I secretly admire.

Yes. I do. But we have never chatted. Enough said.
Can't wait to see the answers to this. Connie you are allowed to secretly admire people. While admiring all the others.
But it is easy to see who the men like, and they think we women are not smart.!!!
